Audiovisual Design

Holding Pattern

The Holding Pattern project went very well. It was intresting how the group interpreted the script and what we each thought about it. We set out our tasks and roles for the production of the film. The main priorty was location because we wanted to make the film as realistic as possible. We wanted to make the film slow paced with long static shots to heighten the tidious and dull environment. We decided that Bogdan wouldn't talk in the film as it acted as a barrier between the character and the audience allowing his actions tell the story, "action speaks louder than words." I'm really happy with the finished film and our group was the only one that had humour and sub plots. I think that the lighting in the film wasn't consistant enough, too much contrast between the internal and external shots which could be altered with filters in the editing process. In future projects I hope to improve on lighting to improve the aesthetics of a film.
